Q: Where are the McKendree University Kentucky Campuses located?
A: McKendree University offers two convenient campus locations in the state of
Kentucky, plus an additional cohort program location for our BSN Students.
Our Radcliff Campus is located at 1635 West Lincoln Trail Blvd., just three miles from Fort Knox. This
campus also offers a BSN cohort program in Glasgow, Kentucky, at T.J. Samson Hospital.
The Louisville Campus is located at 11850 Commonwealth Drive in the J-Town area of eastern Jefferson
County. Commonwealth Drive is just outside of the Bluegrass Industrial Park, close the Corporate Offices of Papa
John's International and Sam's Club.
Q: Is McKendree University regionally accredited?
A: Yes! McKendree University is based in Illinois; therefore, we are regionally accredited
through the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, or NCA. The NCA is equivalent to the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools, or SACS. Our BSN Program is also accredited by the National League of Nursing
Accrediting Commission. A complete list of school accreditations can be found in the "About
Us" menu under "Accreditations".
Q: Will my previous credits transfer toward my degree with McKendree University?
A: McKendree accepts a maximum of 70 semester credit hours from a two-year institution and up to 96 hours
from a four year-school in the undergraduate program. Up to 15 credit hours can be transferred into the Master of
Science in Nursing Program, and a maximum of 12 hours of transfer credit will be accepted toward a Master's in
Business Administration.
Q: Is there an application fee?
A: No! Students applying for admission to either of the Kentucky Campuses will not be charged an application
fee.
Q: Does McKendree operate on a semester credit hour system or a quarter hour system? What is the difference?
A: While many of our classes are just a month long, McKendree operates on a semester credit hour system. This
includes three semesters throughout the academic year: Spring (January - May), Summer (June, July, & August),
and Fall (September - December). McKendree requires 128 semester credit hours to complete a Bachelor's Degree.
Some schools operate on a quarter credit hour system. One credit hour earned in the quarter credit hour system is only
worth 2/3 of a semester credit hour. Therefore, students on a quarter hour system are often required to complete more
credit hours than those studying at a school operating on a semester system. This means that a student on a semester
system saves both time and money.
Q: Does McKendree University offer online, or distance learning?
A: McKendree utilizes a blended-learning format, integrated face to face instruction and the use of technology. We
exist to provide students with a quality education, and a predetermined amount of coursework is required to complete a
degree program in compliance with the schools accreditations. Therefore, we require students to attend classes on
campus as well as utilize online class sessions within that same course. This offers our students the chance to
familiarize themselves with the ever-growing world of technology and offer added flexibility to their
schedules.
Q: Do I have to have previous work experience in the nursing field in order to enter the RN to BSN Program at
McKendree University?
A: No. McKendree does not require previous work experience before enrolling to our RN to BSN Program. However,
we do require that every applicant is a licensed RN, and that he or she has graduated from an ADN or Diploma Program
before beginning classes.
Q: When are the BSN courses offered?
A: The BSN courses are offered on the following schedule:
| Tuesdays: 8am - 5pm | T.J. Samson Hospital | Glasgow, KY |
| Wednesdays: 8am - 5pm | Louisville Campus | Louisville, KY |
| Thursdays: 8am - 5pm | Radcliff Campus | Radcliff, KY |
| Saturdays: 8am - 5pm | Louisville Campus | Louisville, KY |
Q: When can I start?
